The Racine County Sheriff's Office Records Bureau is responsible for the maintenance, computerization, and storage of all records generated by patrol and investigative personnel in the course of their duties. These records include, but are not limited to; incident reports, investigative reports, correspondence related to an incident, citations, and internal documents. The Records Bureau maintains inactive jail files, fingerprint cards, and mug shots as part of its centralized records. All clerical functions of the Civil Process Office have been added to this office. Fingerprinting services are also performed by Records Bureau personnel.
Records Bureau personnel respond to a wide range of requests from the general public, news media, and other law enforcement agencies, including records checks, open records requests, and general information / directions while reporting to State and Federal agencies regarding crimes, arrests, and accident information.
Open records requests can be received by electronic request form (listed below), made in person at our location (listed below), by mail or facsimile.
The request should include as much information as possible regarding the requested documents.
Reports are maintained on file for eight years. Records checks will include only case and contacts made by the Racine County Sheriff's Office . For a statewide record check, please contact State of Wisconsin, Crime Information Bureau.
Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday except legal holidays.
