Alternatives to Corrections through Education (ACE) is a program created by Racine County Human Services Department as a cost-effective alternative for youth, ages 12-17, who would be placed in a state correctional facility. Youth who meet the criteria for a community-based program can participate in this unique alternative. Family participation is a vital component of the program.
ACE is a 4-Phase program that offers juveniles and their families unique programming.
| Phase | Duration | Description |
| Phase One Orientation | First 24 Hours | Alcohol and other drug abuse, access reading, math and English competency, Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale and other assessments done. Families are required to participate! |

Phase Two General Education |
7-12 Weeks | Begin earning credits. Individual/group/family therapy and counseling. |
| Phase Three Community Transition | 8-12 Weeks | Continued academic learning, individual and group programming. Ongoing emphasis on General Education as well as participation in community services and off-site supportive educational services. |

Phase Four Aftercare |
3-6 Months | Youth and families continue counseling. Customized juvenile's therapeutic needs and service availability of services in the youth's home county. |
