About Our Facility

Racine County Juvenile Detention is a secure, 121 bed facility located at 1717 Taylor Avenue in Racine. Services are provided to incarcerated youth from Racine, Kenosha and Southeastern Wisconsin. While at the center:

  • We are responsible for your child's care and well-being. We provide clean clothing, three meals a day, hygiene/personal care products, reading and writing materials, chaplaincy services, medical care, recreation and mental health services.
  • Youth are required to attend school daily. In partnership with the local school district, Racine Unified School District (RUSD), full-time, licensed teachers are onsite to provide educational support and school work in accordance with the education plan of the school your child previously attended. This allows your child to keep up with their work during the school year and summer.
  • Parental involvement is encouraged through visitation and telephone calls.
