The Evidence Custodian maintains the ‘chain of custody’ of evidence that may be sent to the Crime Lab for analysis.
Collection and processing of evidence is a constantly changing field that demands the office be current in the latest technological procedures. Our Evidence Custodian and Investigators are highly involved in learning new processes and proper technique for evidence collection.
The Evidence Custodian is responsible for delivering blood samples for processing through the always-busy Evidence Section and the Wisconsin State Hygiene Lab/Crime Lab.
Once the District Attorney has authorized the release, the Evidence Custodian will release evidence back to its rightful owner.
