Cliffside Campground is a family-friendly, 92-site campground located in Racine County, Wisconsin.
The campground is conveniently located between Milwaukee and Chicago. Access to Lake Michigan is less than 20 minutes away. (North Beach)
Tent campers and RVs are welcome on all sites. All sites are back-in only and accommodate up to a 45' RV with slide-outs.
The campground is open from the second weekend in April through October 31.
1. What sites do you recommend?
Each site at Cliffside is similar in terms of amenities and space. However, campers usually ask about:
Outside sites: 1, 2, 3, 4, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43, 45, 47, 49, 50, 51, 52, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 85, 87, 89, 91
Near the bathrooms: 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 63, 64, 65, 66, 68, 69, 82, 83
Satellite-friendly sites: 31, 33, 35, 37, 39
2. Are any of the campsites near the water?
No, the lake is not visible from any of the campsites.
However, the campground does have a lookout of the lake on its trail system. The nearest trailhead is near Group Campsite #1. The water is not accessible from the lookout as it is on a cliff. A trail map is available here.
3. Where can I go swimming in Lake Michigan?
The nearest beach is North Beach in the City of Racine. The beach is about a 15-20 minute drive from the campground. For more information, visit the City of Racine's website.
4. What is there to do in the area?

5. How do I book a campsite?
Campsite reservations can be made below using our online reservation system. If you need assistance booking a campsite, please give us a call at 262-886-8440. Our office hours are weekdays 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The phone can get very busy - please leave a detailed message if you cannot get through. We will call you back as soon as possible.
6. What is the reservation fee and can it be waived?
The reservation fee covers the use of our reservation program and other overhead related to campground reservations. It is charged once per reservation.
The only time the reservation fee will be waived is if you are extending your current reservation and must move to a different site. The fee will not be waived if you are returning to the campground at a later date.
If Parks Office staff is booking your extended stay for you, we will automatically waive the fee.
If you are booking the reservation yourself online, the system cannot detect that you are extending your stay. Therefore, we ask that you continue to book your reservation and contact us. Once Parks Office staff is notified, we will issue the refund for the reservation fee.
7. How can I modify or cancel my reservation?
Modifications and cancelations can only be made by calling the Parks Office at 262-886-8440 or by emailing parks@racinecounty.com. Please leave a voicemail if there is no answer, we will call you back as soon as possible.
8. Do you offer long-term or seasonal reservations?
Depending on site availability, you are allowed to make a reservation for the entire duration of the season (second weekend in April - second weekend in October). Please note that there are no discounts for long-term reservations.
9. Does the campground have Wi-Fi?
The campground does not have Wi-Fi. However, most people have great cell phone and data reception in the campground.
10. Where can I get firewood?
Firewood is available at the campground for $7/bundle. There is a 24 hour self-service stand that accepts cash and card.
11. Can I get a package mailed to the campground?
If you are planning on having a package arrive while you are staying at the campground, you can have it sent to your site. Simply include your campsite number in the address.
If your package will be arriving beforehand, you must have it held for pickup at the post office. There is nobody at the campground to receive and hold packages. The nearest post office is minutes away:

12. How old do I have to be to book a campsite?
You must be at least 18 years old to make a reservation.
13. Do you offer year-round camping?
Unfortunately, we do not. Our camping season is the second weekend in April through the second weekend in October.
