Weather-Related Delays, Cancellations, or Closings

It is our goal to keep the SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center open as much as possible, but Wisconsin’s unpredictable weather can affect the best-laid summer plans.  On questionable weather days and before you grab your suit, towel and sunblock, check the pool status on our facebook page or by calling 262-619-5630.

For safety purposes, the facility will immediately close at the first sign of thunder, lightning or severe weather, and will remain closed at least 30 minutes from the last sign of thunder, lightning, or severe weather. During this time, patrons will not be allowed to remain within the pool enclosure and are strongly encouraged to seek shelter.  Staff will review forecasted weather notices and attempt to maximize the amount of open pool time.  If heavy rain or strong winds are present, swimmers will be cleared from the pool, until the rain and winds let up and provide a safe visibility for the lifeguards.

Equipment Maintenance The pool will be closed anytime there are unsafe conditions or anytime a situation arises that would jeopardize the public health or safety of the people in attendance. This decision will be made by the SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center leadership team.

Health & safety closures – In the event that the pool water chemistry fails to comply with regulations or there is a condition that creates an unsafe swimming environment, the facility will be closed to guests until the water chemistry is brought back into compliance or the unsafe condition is no longer present.

Low attendance – The facility may close in the event that fewer than 25 guests for a 30-minute timeframe are present.  In lieu of closing, certain areas or attractions may be closed.

The management of the SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center reserves the right to close the pool in accordance with the policies above or air temperatures below 65 degrees.

Refunds will not be issued.
