Staff Incentives:
- Free family membership to the SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center.
- $50 sign-on bonus (awarded mid July)
- $50 bonus for returning staff (awarded mid July)
- $100 referral bonus for each new staff member referred and hired (awarded mid July)
- $200 end of season bonus for those averaging 20 hours for 10 weeks or $500 end of season bonus for those averaging 35 hours for 10 weeks.
- Will receive time and a half if scheduled to work on a holiday (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).
American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
Comprehensive Blended Training Sessions
- Equivalent to the traditional in-person course; this two-year American Red Cross certification includes: Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR & AED.
- Online lessons are completed prior to in-person training, maximizing time in water for rescue and swimming skills.
- In-water skills & review sessions.
Interactive and Engaging Sessions
- Online lessons allow participants to explore information and choose how content is presented.
- Learning enhanced by a high level of interactive elements, including: narrative, case studies, "What Should You Do" scenarios, video, drag-and-drop matching exercises and other gaming elements that appeal to participants.
Prerequisites:
- Must be 15 years old on or before the final day of the course.
- Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may use front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed.
- Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.
- Ability to retrieve a 10-lb dive weight from 7feet deep, surface and swim 20yds with the weight, using legs only and exit the pool without using a ladder within 100 seconds.
