"We recognize the need and desirability of litter-free parks and this application is being submitted and accepted to contribute toward this effort. By signature, the "Group" agrees to the following terms and conditions:
- Any group containing personnel under 18 years of age must have adequate adult supervision.
- A minimum ratio of one adult for each ten (10) persons under 18 years of age is required.
- Litter pick-up shall be restricted to park operating hours. No litter pick-up shall be performed under adverse weather conditions (e.g., rain, wind, etc.)
- Groups shall be required to adopt a park for a one-year period.
- Groups shall notify the County of Racine 48 hours prior to conducting a clean-up.
- Groups shall place filled trash bags at the adopted park for pick up and disposal.
- Groups shall agree to sign a liability/waiver release (below).
- Group leaders are responsible for conducting safety briefings for all participants prior to each clean-up event.
I certify that all information provided above is accurate and that I will assume all responsibility for proper care, cleanup, and utilization of the stated park and facility and will abide by the Racine County Code of Ordinances.
The Group and its members agree to indemnify and hold harmless the County of Racine from any and all liability, including injuries, claims, suits or costs thereof, arising from the activities related to this permit and the clean up of the above-named adopted park and facility. Falsification of information may lead to revocation of this permit. The Group and its members are to be considered as volunteers and not as officers, employees, or agents of the County of Racine, Department of Public Works and Development Services. Any injuries, claims, liabilities, suits or costs thereof, whatsoever, arising from Group or Group members' activities relating to this permit shall be the sole responsibility of the Group or its individual members."
