Real estate property tax bills are prepared and mailed in December by the local municipalities. The first installment is due by January 31 and paid to the municipality. IMPORTANT:  if the first installment payment is late or short, ALL taxes become due and interest and penalty starts accruing as of February 1st according to Wisconsin State Statue (74.11(7) or 74.12 & 74.85). Installment options would no longer be valid.  

For City of Racine properties, the City allows taxpayers to pay in four installments:  January 31, March 31, May 31 and July 31. The City collects all payments between January 31-July 31 on the current tax year.  City Hall is located at 730 Washington Avenue.  For payment information, please contact the City at (262) 636-9171.  After July 31st, all payments are payable to the Racine County Treasurer, 730 Wisconsin Avenue, in the Courthouse.

For all other county municipalities, there are two installments allowed:  January 31 and July 31. 1st installments or payments in full are collected by the local municipality prior to February 1st.  2nd installments and delinquent taxes are payable to the Racine County Treasurer, 730 Wisconsin Avenue, in the Courthouse.
